Increasing Garage Storage Space
If you have a car, you would probably keep it in your house’s garage to protect it from harsh weather as well as from theft. Like most vehicle owners, you would probably stuff your ride’s storage space with miscellaneous items such as tools, bikes, furniture, and appliances. After a few years, the place becomes a mess with all sorts of things in it. How then do you get your automobile’s space back? Here are a few guidelines that can be of great help to you.
First, get rid of things that you do not need such as unusable appliances and broken furniture. If you are storing old stuff because you are presently using newer counterparts, then throw away the former. Better yet, you can sell the things you will not use through a yard sale because you get to clean out your place while getting some money that way.
Next, organise the place by installing shelving systems. There are a lot of shelf kits in home improvement stores that are sturdy and easy to assemble. Shelves allow you to store tools and equipment in an uncluttered fashion.
If it is somehow impractical to use shelving, utilise the walls instead. Purchase a few hooks from the hardware store and screw them on. You can then hang power and hand tools plus other equipment on the walls. If this does not suit you, use a panel organiser instead. This is a piece of sturdy board with holes placed at regular intervals. Hooks can then be placed on the holes, which in turn provide a receptacle for equipment to be hanged. Finally, purchase a small cabinet where you can keep cleaning chemicals, motor oil, coolants, and other car-oriented substances safely.
By doing these tips, you will have a roomier, better garage.
